The center’s mission focuses on building partnerships with community members, agencies, business and organizations. Workshops on youth specific issues will be conducted by Durham agency liaisons. The schedule will also include self directed activities for youth. Community forums, guest presentations, teen dialogue nights and educational speakers will address topics such as teen-parent relationships, teen drug and alcohol use, depression and suicide, and teen sexuality.
The Durham Teen Center provides middle and high school youth with high quality programming. The center encourages youth to express themselves, transcend personal boundaries, learn the value of service to their community, and develop individual assets that foster healthy and meaningful lives.
The Teen Center is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Durham Public Schools early release days. The center is closed on weekends.
