Is the Durham Fire Department a part of the recent telephone solicitation campaign?

Due to resident inquiries, the Durham Fire Department has learned that the Raleigh Professional Fire Fighters Association (RPFFA) is sponsoring a 2011 Full Country Music Show on November 18, 2011 at the J.S. Dorton Arena. Please be advised that the RPFFA does not represent the City of Raleigh Fire Department.

It has come to our attention that solicitors working on behalf of the RPFFA are engaged in a telephone solicitation campaign to sell tickets to the above referenced event.

The Durham Fire Department in no way benefits, participates, or is connected to this telephone solicitation campaign. Funds raised by the RPFFA are used to solely support their organization.

If you have additional questions about the RPFFA or their solicitation campaign, contact them directly at www.rpffa.com or call (919) 714-7944.

Any concerns regarding inappropriate telemarketing actions should be directed to the North Carolina Department of Justice or call Attorney General Roy Cooper’s consumer hotline toll free within North Carolina at (877) 5-NO-SCAM or (919) 716-6000.
