Outdoor Pools

Durham Parks and Recreation outdoor pools are open June 10-August 17, 2008. The pools and operating hours are as follows:

Forest Hills (1639 University Drive)

Monday-Friday (1 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
Saturday (11 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
Sunday (1 p.m. - 5 p.m.)
Extended Hours of Operation (Free Swim Hours) Fridays 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Hillside (1300 South Roxboro Street)

Monday-Friday (1 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
Saturday (11 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
Sunday (1 p.m. - 5 p.m.)
Extended Hours of Operation (Free Swim Hours) Wednesdays 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Long Meadow Pool (917 Liberty Street)

Monday-Friday (1 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
Saturday (11 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
Sunday (1 p.m. - 5 p.m.)
Extended Hours of Operation (Free Swim Hours) – Mondays 3p.m. – 7p.m.

The daily admission price is $2 per person and is free for children under 3. Monthly and seasonal passes are available. For information, pick up a Play More at the DPR main office (400 Cleveland Street) or call (919) 560-4355.

Edison Johnson Aquatic Center (EJAC)

Please note: EJAC will be closed for annual maintenance from August 25-September 1.

Campus Hills Pool (CHP)

Swim Passes

Durham Parks and Recreation offers several types of swimming passes for patrons to enjoy. For lap swimming individuals can purchase a 20 punch pass that provides them entrance to either Campus Hill Pool or Edison Johnson Aquatic Center . Twenty-five Punch passes are only valid for lap swim but do not expire. (Separate 16-Punch passes can be purchased for use for Water Aerobics classes.)

Extended use cards can be purchased for an individual or a family. They are valid for lap swim, recreation and family swim. (A family is considered to consist of two adults and up to three children.)
