July Teen Activities

 

Durham's July 4th Celebration

Celebrate patriotism and civic pride with music and fireworks at Durham’s Independence Day festivities on Saturday, July 4. This event will take place rain or shine.

5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Music on the Lawn Concert at American Tobacco
Featuring John Brown & The Groove Shop Band (free)

6:05 p.m. (Gates open at 5:05 p.m.)
USA Baseball game
(tickets required, visit www.durhambulls.com to purchase tickets)

* DBAP gates will open for free admission at end of 7th inning if seats are available

Enjoy free music and performances and participate in community art projects in downtown Durham, held in conjunction with the Third Friday Durham Culture Crawl. For information about Third Fridays on the CCB Plaza, call (919) 560-4355.

The Warehouse Blues Concert Series is a series of free blues concerts, played outdoors in the courtyard of West Village in Downtown Durham. For information, call (919) 560-4355.

Wind down to the weekend at a free Thursday night concert downtown at the CCB Plaza on July 30 (Latin Music) and August, 27 (Jazz).

 

Latino Festival

Rock Quarry Park, 701 Stadium Drive

Edison Johnson Luau

Saturday, September 12, 2009 (4 p.m. – 6 p.m.)
Edison Johnson Recreation Center, 500 W. Murray Ave.
There will be Polynesian crafts, island games, a limbo contest, prizes, great music, food and fun. The pool will be open for water activities, so bring your swim suit! This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. For information, call 560-4270.
