Durham’s July 4th Festivities Parking Garage Exit Instructions

The following instructions were prepared to assist spectators/motorists in making a safe exit away from the festivities. The instructions are categorized according to whichever parking garage you may be leaving; and will direct you to the main corridors and the freeway. There are police officers at each intersection controlling and directing traffic. If you are involved in a traffic accident; stop your vehicle, turn on your emergency flashers, remain where you are and call 911.

From the Church St. Parking Garage – located across the street from the courthouse
(Enter via Ramseur Street and exit onto Mangum Street)

To 147/Durham Freeway to 15-501 & Duke University Medical Center
Exit and turn left onto Mangum Street and proceed south. Work your way into the far right travel lane.
Take the exit to 147 North on the right, just past the stadium.

To 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP
Exit and turn left onto Mangum Street and proceed south. Work your way into the far left travel lane.
Turn left onto Morehead Avenue and proceed one block to South Roxboro Street where you will cross and access the ramp to 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP.

To I-85

Exit and turn left onto Mangum Street and proceed south. Work your way into the far right travel lane.
Take the exit to 147 North on your right, just past the stadium.
Continue on 147 North to the 15-501 and I-85 interchanges.

From the Corcoran Street Parking Garage – located at the corner of Corcoran and Ramsuer next to the railroad tracks
(Enter and exit via Ramseur Street. There is also an entrance from Corcoran Street)

To 147/Durham Freeway to 15-501 and Duke University Medical Center
Exit and turn left onto Ramseur Street. Proceed east to Mangum Street and turn right onto Mangum Street. Work your way into the far right travel lane.
Take the exit to 147 North on your right, just past the stadium.

To 147/Durham Freeway to 15-501 and Duke University Medical Center
Exit and turn left onto Ramseur Str.eet Proceed east to Mangum Street and turn right onto Mangum Street. Work your way into the far left travel lane.
Take the exit to 147 North on the right, just past the stadium

To 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP
Exit and turn left onto Ramseur Street. Proceed East to Mangum Street and turn right onto Mangum Street. Work your way into the far left travel lane.
Turn left onto Morehead Avenue and proceed one block to South Roxboro Street where you will cross and access the ramp to 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP.

To I-85
Exit and turn left onto Ramseur Street. Proceed east to Mangum Street. Turn right and proceed south. Work your way into the far right travel lane.
Take the exit to 147 North on the right, just past the stadium.
Continue on 147 North to the 15-501 and I-85 interchanges.

From the North Parking Garage of the American Tobacco Campus – located on Pettigrew Street facing the railroad tracks. (Enter and exit via Pettigrew Street)

To 147/Durham Freeway to 15-501 and Duke Medical Center
exit and turn right onto Pettigrew Street. Proceed east to Mangum Street and turn right. Work your way into the far right travel lane.
Take the exit to 147 North on the right, just past the stadium.

To 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP
Exit and turn right onto Pettigrew Street. Proceed east to Mangum Street and turn right. Work your way into the far left travel lane.
Turn left onto Morehead Avenue and proceed one block to South Roxboro Street. Cross and access the ramp to 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP.

To I-85
Exit and turn right onto Pettigrew Street. Proceed east to Mangum Street and turn right and proceed south. Work your way into the far right travel lane.
Take the exit to 147 North on the right, just past the stadium.

To 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP
Exit and turn right onto Pettigrew Street. Proceed east to Mangum Street and turn right. Work your way into the far left travel lane.
Turn left onto Morehead Avenue and proceed one block to South Roxboro Street where you will cross and access the ramp to 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP.

To I-85
Exit and turn right onto Pettigrew Street. Proceed east to Mangum Street and turn right and proceed south. Work your way into the far right travel lane.
Take the exit to 147 North on your right, just past the stadium.
Continue on 147 North to the 15-501 and I-85 interchanges.

From the East Parking Garage – located on Mangum Street, at the end of the Diamond View building and across from the jail. (Enter and exit via Mangum Street)

To 147/Durham Freeway to 15-501 and Duke Medical Center
Exit and turn right onto Mangum Street. Work your way into the far right travel lane.
Take the exit to 147 North on the right, just past the stadium.

To 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP
Exit and turn right onto Mangum Street. Work your way into the far left travel lane.
Turn left onto Morehead Avenue. Proceed one block to South Roxboro Street where you will cross and access the ramp to 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP.

To I-85
Exit and turn right onto Mangum Street. Work your way into the far right travel lane.
Take the exit to 147 North on your right, just past the stadium.
Continue on 147 North to the 15-501 and I-85 interchanges.

From the Southern Parking Garage of the American Tobacco Campus – located on Jackie Robinson at Julian Carr; next to the Mello Mushroom restaurant
(Enter the deck from Jackie Robinson and exit the deck onto Julian Carr)

To 147/Durham Freeway to 15-501 and Duke Medical Center
Exit onto Julian Carr and turn right. Proceed on Julian Carr, crossing Willard Street, continuing on to Duke Street. Turn right onto Duke St. and work your way into the far left turn lane. Turn left onto Chapel Hill Street. Proceed West on Chapel Hill Street to the 147 North ramp on your right just past Gregson Street.

To 147/Durham Freeway to Raleigh/RTP
Exit onto Julian Carr and turn right. Proceed on Julian Car, crossing Willard Street, continuing on to Duke Street. Turn right onto Duke Street and work your way into the far left turn lane. Turn left onto Chapel Hill Street. Proceed west on Chapel Hill Street across 147 and turn left at the traffic light onto the ramp to 147 South to Raleigh/RTP.

To I-85
Exit onto Julian Carr and turn right. Proceed on Julian Carr to Willard Street, continuing on to Duke Street. Turn right onto Duke Street and work your way into the far left turn lane. Turn left onto Chapel Hill Street. Proceed West on Chapel Hill Street to the 147 North ramp on the right just past Gregson Street. Continue on 147 North to the 15-501 and I-85 interchanges.
