Martinez is proud to share his Latin culture and to support and promote the local Latin talent in Durham.
Leno y sus Compas Del NorteThe Norteño group was founded in 1985, in the town of Colina, Mexico. In 2000, Leno moved to North Carolina and decided to re-form the group with new members. Leno y sus Compas Del Norte have released two CD’s and strive to bring great entertainment to North Carolina.

The Latin Project pays homage to the music of Puerto Rico and Cuba. Their style is based on the sounds of Mambo, Guaguanco, Rumba, Guaracha, Son, Cha Cha Cha and other timeless Latin rhythms, (also known as Salsa). In essence, The Latin Project, also known as the Latin Jazz Project is an “Old School Salsa” band. This band blends two musical genres into an explosive and upbeat, challenging and sophisticated musical expression known as Latin Jazz.

Formed in 1989, Carnavalito has performed up and down the Southeast coast from Washington, DC to Florida at festivals, clubs, private parties, and special events as well as television and radio programs including Latino USA and NPR. They have released two highly acclaimed CD’s: Carnavalito and Tu y Yo. Through the years, Carnavalito has become an institution that has helped influence many other Latin style groups in the area.
