The City of Durham’s Department of Water Management, in conjunction with Rain Water Solutions, Inc., is offering rain barrels at wholesale. Rain barrels are just $90.

Rain Barrel features and specifications:

  • Brass three-fouths inch spigot – easily connects to any standard size garden hose

  • Gravity fed system – requires no pumps or mechanical add-ons

  • Two built-in overflow ports – primary overflow will route excess water away from homes foundations; a built-in secondary overflow to route water to a second or third rain barrel; system is easily expandable to double, triple, etc. your water storage capability

  • Screen trap at water entry point keeps unwanted pests (mosquitoes, etc) out of the water

  • Child/pest resistant lid with built in lock channels
