Hope Valley Road (NC 751) Proposed Widening

A public information meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, January 27, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to solicit public input on the proposed widening of Hope Valley Road (NC 751) generally between West Woodcroft Parkway and South Roxboro Street. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria of Jordon High School, 6806 Garrett Road. The purpose of the meeting is to present the Traffic Report, showing the location of the proposed widening, and provide an opportunity for public review and comment.

The Traffic Report includes the conceptual design, environmental screening, and traffic analysis. The proposed project would widen Hope Valley Road to a four-lane, divided facility from Woodcroft Parkway to South Roxboro Street. It also includes realigning the intersection with South Roxboro Street to make the southern leg of Hope Valley Road and South Roxboro Street the major (through) movement. The northern leg of Hope Valley Road would be realigned to become the minor approach. This realignment is consistent with the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro (DCHC) Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (MPO) Long Range Transportation Plan.
