American Tobacco Trail Project - Phase E Pedestrian Bridge Over I-40

This project includes the completion of the American Tobacco Trail from NC 54 to the Chatham County Line and will include a bridge across I-40 west of the I-40/Fayetteville Road interchange. The trail will be paved and will include several signals at roadway crossings along the route.

A tentative schedule is listed below for the American Tobacco Trail project from NC 54 to the Chatham County line which includes the construction of the I-40 bridge. Construction is anticipated to be completed by June 2010. The second Public Meeting is being held on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 7 p.m. in City Hall, 101 City Hall Plaza, Council Chambers, first floor.

American Tobacco Trail Proposed Schedule:

June 2008 - Design Notice to Proceed
March 2009 – Final Design Submittal
June 2009 – Advertise for Construction
June 2010 – Complete Construction
