Revere Road Paving Project
The City of Durham is repaving the entire length of Revere Road from N.C. Highway 54 south to Sedwick Road as well as the two blocks south of Sedwick Road. In addition to repaving, there are sections of the roadway that will be completely reconstructed. The plans include replacement of approximately 9,000 feet of curb and many driveway connections on Revere Road.
This project will begin in March with some minor repairs and continue through the spring, weather permitting, with pavement repairs. The project is being funded with 2007 general obligation bond funds. The estimated cost of the project is in excess of $1.5 million.

Garbage Pickup
Barnhill will be working with the City of Durham Solid Waste Management Department to arrange for access to pick up garbage and recycling. In most cases, this will occur as early as 6 a.m. on the morning of your scheduled garbage and/or recycling pickup.
Water/Sewer
Residents in Section 6A & 6B may temporarily lose water service on Friday, July 8, and Saturday, July 9. This work is being done to lower the water services and prevent them from being struck as we dig down to make repairs beneath the existing road. Thank in advance for your patience.
Parking Area
The parking, POD and carts for residents temporarily displaced by construction will be located at Parkwood Elementary, in the lot with an entrance from Revere Road. Please only park at the area highlighted in the link below, titled "Parking, POD and Cart Area." The numbers for the cart drivers can be found by clicking the link "Construction Notice Door Hanger."
Project update
Curb and gutter concrete work is nearing completion. Section 2A asphalt repair was started on 3/1/11 and completed on 3/3/11. Section 1 asphalt and concrete curb and gutter repair was started on 3/7/11 and completed on 3/16/11. Section 2B asphalt and concrete curb and gutter repair was started on 3/17/11 and will be completed on 3/25/11. Section 3 asphalt and concrete curb and gutter repair was started on 4/4/11 and will be completed on 4/12/11. Section 4A asphalt and concrete curb and gutter repair was started on 4/13/11 and will be completed on 4/19/11. Section 4C asphalt and concrete curb and gutter repair was started on 4/19/11 and will be completed on 4/29/11. Section 4B asphalt and concrete curb and gutter repair was started on 4/29/11 and will be completed on 5/6/11. Paving was started on 5/9/11 and was completed on 5/13/11. Section 5 asphalt and concrete curb and gutter repair was started on 7/5/11 and should be completed on 7/8/11. Section 6 asphalt and concrete repairs will be starting on 7/8/11.
Construction Zone Warning
Please be advised that drivers caught moving and/or driving through the barricades will receive a citation, for $160. This citation cannot be waived and cannot be dropped. Please obey all construction signs, detour signs and construction barricades.
