Welcome to the City of Durham Surplus Property Application, which features surplus real estate available for the public to purchase. Most of the properties are unimproved (vacant) lots. A small number are improved with unoccupied residential structures, and most of these are for sale to first-time, low- to moderate-income home buyers. When you begin your search, there are several ways to obtain information about the properties. Choose a Surplus Property, Choose a Vacant House, View Vacant Housing Table, View Surplus Property Table, View Vacant Conforming Lots Table, or View All City Owned Property. For properties that interest you, there is a section you can complete and send an email to obtain additional information. You will receive a response within approximately three (3) business days of receipt of your email, Monday through Friday.
