About the Board

The board is a nonprofit that operates the City-owned Carolina Theatre and members should be persons with, but not limited to, skills in the areas of business, finance, arts and culture or community relations.

The purpose of the board is to preserve, maintain and operate the Durham Auditorium/Carolina Theatre, a historic, artistic, educational, civic, and enhanced cultural facility that benefits the entire community through film presentations, live performances, and use of the facility by community groups.

      *City and County taxes must not reflect any delinquency at the time of submission of the application.
      *Property tax listing must be current. Applications may be obtained from the City
          Clerk's Office on the 2nd floor of City Hall, from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday
          or you may apply on-line.
