PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project involves the design of sidewalk on the south side of NC-54 from NC HWY-55 east to the RTP western limit. The total length is 0.4 miles and the design project budget is $94,169.
The project vicinity is shown to the right under Project Information. The improvements include new sidewalks and accessible ramps.

Project Status
Davenport Engineering of Raleigh, NC has been hired as the design firm to prepare plans, obtain permits, and hold informational meetings with stakeholders. They began data collection in February 2018 and currently are in the 25% design phase of the project. The city hosted the 1st community input meeting on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the South Meeting Room (left side) at the South Regional Library located at 4505 S. Alston Ave where the community viewed the current design and offered comments. The city hosted a second drop-in style meeting on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Durham County South Regional Library (South Meeting Room on the right side), located at 4505 S. Alston Ave. Residents were able to review the proposed design, ask questions of Public Works staff, and provide input before the department completes the final design work. For residents who were not able to attend the March 19, 2019 meeting, maps and a comment form to collect feedback are under Project Information on this webpage.
