Officers assigned to the Durham Police Athletic/Activities League (DPAL) unit work together to promote youth and young adult engagement year-round through athletics and activities. Each of DPAL’s primary facets (featured below) takes a specialized approach to build self-esteem and character; identify participant strengths; promote team work and problem solving; reward achievements; and strengthen police-community relationships.
The DPAL program is made possible by the support of volunteer coaches and mentors, individual and corporate funders, and community groups. Become a DPAL contributor, mentor and/or athletic program volunteer.
