The GoDurham Better Bus Project will design street, sidewalk, and bus stop improvements that provide safe access to bus stops, enhance comfort at bus stops, and improve bus service on GoDurham routes.
Recommend and design sidewalks, crosswalks, curb ramps, and other pedestrian improvements that provide better access to bus stops.
Recommend shelters, benches, and other improvements at bus stops that make waiting for the bus more comfortable and convenient.
Identify bus delay hot spots and design bus priority projects like changes to traffic signals, pavement markings, and signage that improve bus speed and reliability.
Better Bus Project Overview
The 18-month Better Bus Project consists of five individual projects that will identify GoDurham bus access and service improvements system-wide, with additional focus on GoDurham Routes 3 and 5. To learn about each of the five projects, feel free to explore each of their individual pages to the left.
The initial Better Bus Project Survey has closed. There will be other opportunities down the line to tell us about your bus experience to help lead to the design of improvements to sidewalks, crosswalks, reduced delays, and more.
