The following videos provide on-demand training for City of Durham web managers, web editors, and other staff who work on City websites.

Web Training Requirements by Role

If you have questions about training requirements or need additional training, please submit a request using the links above.

Web Manager

City staff who have full access to maintain department pages or subsites:

Web Editor

City staff who manage/update specific pages or documents on the website:

Other/Limited Access

Web Basics

This training is offered monthly in a live, hands-on format for new web managers and editors or those who want a refresher. View upcoming dates.

Get an introduction to or refresher on editing and maintaining pages on the DurhamNC.gov website (or other CivicPlus sites including Park Durham, DPRPlayMore, DSC, DurhamBusiness360). Topics covered include: website content best practices, accessibility, and an introduction to the CivicPlus web platform.

Digital accessibility refers to ensuring that our digital content can be accessed and understood by everyone, including those with disabilities. Working to meet ADA accessibility guidelines is a priority and requirement for City of Durham websites and digital content.

  • An introduction to this topic is provided to web managers and editors through our Web Basics training (see above). 
  • Additional training resources are also available to help City staff who create digital content - including websites, emails, PDFs, social media, and video - understand and follow these guidelines.

Siteimprove Basics: Intro & Quality Assurance

Siteimprove is a software used by web managers to help maintain and monitor the City's websites. In this training, get an introduction to Siteimprove including:

  • How to login, view dashboard, and filter department pages
  • How to review and fix broken links and misspellings (Quality Assurance module)
  • How to review weekly email reports
  • How to access Siteimprove Academy for trainings
