Project Description

The City will be making required facility upgrades to comply with the Bulls Organization's Player Development License with Major League Baseball. Upgrades include, but not limited to, the addition of a new batting tunnel, front office and player locker room reconfigurations and upgrades, training room upgrades and any associated HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and architectural finishes.

DBAP SideWalk Closure - Downtown Trail on Blackwell Street

A portion of the Downtown Trail along Blackwell Street will be closed the week of October 3, 2022 until early April 2023. The Durham Bulls Athletic Park is scheduled to undergo facility improvements during the 2022 to 2023 off-season. To complete these improvements, a portion of the sidewalk along Blackwell Street adjacent to the athletic park will be closed. The sidewalk is part of the Downtown Trail, a commuter route that runs through downtown Durham. The sidewalk on the opposite (west) side of Blackwell Street and the driving lanes will remain open, however, several parking spaces will be fenced and closed off. The businesses surrounding the ballpark and within American Tobacco Campus will all remain open throughout the construction process.
