Water Management and Durham County are working together on a wastewater system hydraulic modeling project for the Northeast Creek Sewer Basin. The basin is an area along the western edge of Research Triangle Park and contains interconnected infrastructure owned by both governments. The hydraulic model will help with analyzing the wastewater systems for new development, operations, and capital planning. The project will include installing and maintaining temporary flow monitors within the wastewater collection systems, surveying the selected gravity sewer inverts, forecasting future wastewater flows, and hydraulic modeling services. We will fund 49 percent of the cost of the model and the County will fund 51 percent. This is based on the total miles of sewer lines each government owns in the modeling area.
