Public hearings will be held to discuss the following: Proposed Expenditure for Economic Development; Annexation - Courtyards at Southpoint II (BDG2000011), Junction and Ferrell (BDG2100002); Zoning Map Change - Junction and Ferrell (Z2100007A), Courtyards at Southpoint II (Z2000014).
The Durham City Council will hold public hearings on August 16, 2021, at 7 p.m. to hear the following requests:
Office of Economic & Workforce Development
PR #14836 - Proposed Expenditure for Economic Development
Durham City Council will hold a public hearing to receive comments on a proposed expenditure for economic development in the amount of One hundred, fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to Nuvotronics over a three (3) year period to create a minimum of 113 new jobs and make approximately $39 million in capital investments. The funds will be paid from the General Fund of the City of Durham. Substantial changes to the proposed action may be made following the public hearing.

- Courtyards at Southpoint II (BDG2000011) is a request for a voluntary contiguous annexation of two parcels of land totaling 42.83 acres located at 7852 Herndon Road and 1404 Fenwick Parkway.
- Junction and Ferrell (BDG2100002) is a request for a voluntary contiguous annexation of eleven parcels of land totaling 221.579 acres located at Junction Road and Ferrell Road.
Zoning Map Change
- Junction and Ferrell (Z2100007A) is a request to change the zoning from Industrial Light (IL), Falls/Jordan Lake Watershed Protection District-B (F/J-B), County Jurisdiction and establishing the same as Industrial Light (IL), Falls/Jordan Lake Watershed Protection District-B (F/J-B), City Jurisdiction located at Junction Road and Ferrell Road.
- Courtyards at Southpoint II (Z2000014) is a request to change the zoning from Residential Rural (RR) to Planned Development Residential 1.682 (PDR 1.682) located at 7852 Herndon Road and 1404 Fenwick Parkway.
