The Durham City Council will hold public hearings to hear the following requests: Courtyards at Farrington (A2000015/BDG2000025/Z2000038); Griffin Residential Tract (BDG2000025/Z2000038); and Harriett’s Place II (Z2200014)

Planning DEPARTMENT

Plan Amendment 

  • Courtyards at Farrington (A2000015) is a request to change a portion of the site from Compact Neighborhood Tier to Suburban Tier located at 5109, 5117, 5251 and 5271 Farrington Road. 

Annexations 

  • Griffin Residential Tract (BDG2000025) is a request for a voluntary contiguous annexation of two parcels of land totaling 117.699 acres located at 4903 Leesville Road and 2755 US 70 Highway.
  • Courtyards at Farrington (BDG2000021) is a request for a voluntary contiguous annexation of four parcels of land totaling 21.14 acres located at 5109, 5117, 5251 and 5271 Farrington Road. 

Zoning Map Changes

  • Griffin Residential Tract (Z2000044) is a request to change the zoning from Residential Rural (RR) and Industrial (I), Falls/Jordan Lake Watershed Protection District-B (F/J-B) to Planned Development Residential 3.753 (PDR 3.753), Falls/Jordan Lake Watershed Protection District-B (F/J-B) located at 4903 Leesville Road and 2755 US 70 Highway. 
  • Courtyards at Farrington (Z2000038) is a request to change the zoning from Residential Suburban-20 (RS-20), Falls/Jordan District B (F/J-B), Major Transportation Corridor I-40 (MTC I-40) to Planned Development Residential 3.785 (PDR 3.785), Falls/Jordan District B (F/J-B), Major Transportation Corridor I-40 (MTC I-40). A Future land use map amendment from Office and Design District: Compact Neighborhood to Low Density Residential is associated with this request located at 5109, 5117, 5251 and 5271 Farrington Road. 
  • Harriett’s Place II (Z2200014) is a request to amend the approved development plan of the zoning district Residential Multifamily-Urban with a development plan (RU-M(D)) to modify the building area and the amount of allowed impervious surface located at 312 East Umstead and 1206 Dawkins Streets.
