Event Details:
The Human Relations Division of the City's Neighborhood Improvement Services Department is proud to present the 20th annual Women's Forum in honor of National Women's History Month. This free hybrid forum is open to the public. This year’s theme, Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Story, aims to honor women who have made history, broken barriers, and paved the way for Durham’s future generations.
The event will feature a diverse group of panelists who will share their experiences building bridges in the community to create positive change in Durham. Panelists include Tianna Leger, Program Director of Women's Business Center of NC; Bessie Elmore, Executive Director of Straight Talk Support Group; Lauren Brasil, Managing Attorney at Fair Housing Project, Legal Aid NC; and Mary Chen, President of Chen Language Services.
A meet and greet with light refreshments will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the City Hall lobby. Spanish interpretation will also be available.
Attendees can park in any City parking deck to attend the event. Parking passes for the first 50 attendees will be available. To get a parking pass, please bring your parking receipt inside the event for validation.
This forum will be livestreamed on the City’s website; on the City's YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter pages; and on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV through the free Boxcast app. This forum will also be televised live on Durham Television Network (Spectrum channel 8, Frontier channel 70, and AT&T U-verse channel 99).
