Durham police investigators have arrested three men in connection with an August shooting that left a Durham man seriously injured.
The shooting was reported in the 1600 block of South Alston Avenue shortly after 3:30 p.m. on August 8. The 23-year-old victim told officers he walking to the store and was shot after a confrontation with three males. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Robert Emerson Smith, 23, of Durham was arrested this week and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and felony conspiracy. He was placed in Durham County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
Jerel Alexander Brown, 21, of Durham was arrested earlier and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, felony conspiracy, going armed to the terror of the public, injury to personal property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was placed in Durham County Jail under a $1,275,000 bond.
Jerrod Deshaun Spencer, 24, of Burlington was arrested on charges of felony conspiracy and a parole violation. Spencer was later indicted for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. His bond was set at $250,000.
