Police to Serve Up Summer Fun for Youth Summer Camp Enrollment Deadline is May 1 DURHAM, N.C. – The Durham Police Department (DPD) is accepting applications for its 2018 summer camps for youth ages 9 to 13. Campers will take daily field trips, and engage in recreational, educational and social activities with police officers and other campers. Hosted by school resource officers of the department’s Community Services Division, the program aims to add structured youth activities to the summer months and to strengthen law enforcement's relationship with participating youth and their families. Camp registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants can choose from three week-long camp session: Camp 1: June 18 to June 22; Camp 2: July 23 to July 27; or Camp 3: August 13 to August 17. Applications for 2018 summer camps are online at www.durhampolice.com (Click Community Resources, then Online Forms) and at the front desk of Police Headquarters (505 W. Chapel Hill Street). DPD school resource officers also have forms at school. Completed applications must be returned by May 1, 2018 to the on-duty desk officer located on the first floor of Police Headquarters.
