Durham Police Arrest Arson Suspect 

Officers from the Durham Police Department (DPD) and firefighters from the Durham Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire at 1 Old Trail Drive at the Treyburn Country Club tennis complex shortly after 4 a.m. today.

When Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene the building was totally engulfed in flames. The fire was deemed arson and a witness at the scene was able to identify a suspect, Steven Watts, 18, who was eventually arrested by DPD officers.

Watts was charged with arson of a commercial building, breaking and entering, and larceny after a break-in. There were no injuries from the fire. The investigation in on-going.

The Bahama Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the call.
