Durham Police Charge Man for July 2 Homicide |
DURHAM, N.C. - Durham Police Department investigators have made an arrest in a homicide that stemmed from a welfare check on July 2, 2018, in the 2400 block of Camellia Drive.
Philip Montanino, 49, of Alamance County, has been charged with the murder of 59-year-old Elizabeth Watson. He was placed in the Durham County jail today without bond. Montanino was also charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.
Officers were dispatched to Watson’s residence on Camellia Drive shortly before noon on July 2. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased female, later identified as Watson.
A death investigation led to Montanino’s arrest. The incident is not considered to be random; Montanino and Watson were associates.
