Durham Police Asking for Information about Shooting Involving School Bus
Durham police investigators are trying to identify two people who may have information about a shooting involving a school bus Friday afternoon on Cheek Road at Hardee Street. The driver of the school bus was struck on the head by flying glass. No students on the bus were injured.
The school bus, which was carrying 19 students from Shepard Middle School, was stopped to let out students in the 1800 block of Cheek Road around 3 p.m. when a bullet struck the upper front windshield of the bus. Investigators believe the bullet came from a passing vehicle.
The bus driver was treated at the hospital and released.
