DURHAM, N.C. – A mobile hydration station designed to promote Durham’s tap water and reduce reliance on disposable plastic bottles; major improvement projects at the City’s water treatment plants and water reclamation facilities; and top honors for having the state’s best tasting drinking water –
these and other achievements are highlighted in the 2018 water quality report, “Water Works for You.” The report, produced by the City’s Department of Water Management and required by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is now available at http://durhamnc.gov/946/Annual-Reports.
“As the saying goes, ‘It takes a village,’ and I am proud of our talented and dedicated village of more than 300 employees who work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in all types of weather conditions to serve more than 280,000 customers across Durham,” said Water Management Director, Don Greeley. “It shows, in every glass of clean, affordable, high-quality water, every time a customer turns on the tap. I invite our customers to read this report and learn how Durham’s water works for them in so many ways.”
Water Management is pleased to report 100% compliance in all drinking water standards. EPA regulations allow us to distribute this report electronically in English and Spanish (see the link above); however, customers may also request a printed copy in either language by emailing [email protected] or calling (919) 560-4381.
