Why would you encourage someone in the community to apply to be on a board, committee, or commission?

It is my opinion, that serving in your community should be a part of one’s civic responsibility. In doing so, you get to learn about the interworking of your local governing body, which is here to serve “all” citizens of Durham.

What do you enjoy most about serving on your particular board?

As Chair of the Housing Appeals Board, I enjoy determining solutions that improve living, dwelling unit(s) and housing conditions for all citizens of Durham.

What  is your favorite part about living in Durham?

As a native of Durham my favorite part about living in Durham is its rich history and the current melting pot of new culture and creative ideas that help continue to make Durham a great place to live.
