In light of growing concerns regarding COVID-19, the City of Durham is taking increased measures to help stop the potential spread of this virus among residents and City staff.
Effective Monday, March 23 at 8 a.m., all City of Durham facilities, including City Hall, police headquarters and all fire stations, will be closed to the public until further notice. All Durham Parks and Recreation facilities were closed to the public on March 13.

Public safety employees in police, fire, and the emergency communications center (911), along with other City employees such as those who work in the Water Management and Solid Waste Management Departments, will continue their normal duties while observing social distancing and hand sanitization best practices.
Curbside residential collections of garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulky items will continue under normal operations with the exception of bulky cardboard collections, which are suspended until further notice.
