Recruiting Open Houses Remain Suspended; DPD Still Accepting Job Applications for Police Academy
Although Recruiting Open Houses and in-person recruitment activities are suspended due to COVID-19, the Durham Police Department (DPD) Recruiting Unit is accepting applications for police officer positions. Here are several ways interested applicants can engage with DPD Recruiting Officers while adhering to the stay-at-home order:
- Fill out a City application through NEOGOV link (APPLY NOW) on DPD’s Recruiting page (https://durhamnc.gov/157/Recruiting-Employment)
- Email a DPD Recruiter below to receive an applicant packet, and ask any questions you have about the process:
Senior Officer Robert Jones ([email protected])
Officer Charles Strickland ([email protected])
Officer Pamela Shackleford ([email protected])
- Submit your completed applicant packet to the DPD Recruiting Unit.
When in-person applicant testing and interviews resume, applicants will be eligible to quickly move into the next stages of the hiring process and potentially be a part of an upcoming police academy.
