Durham police are investigating two homicides that happened early Monday morning. The homicides do not appear to be related, according to investigators.
The first incident was reported near the intersection of Jackson Street and Underwood Avenue. Officers were dispatched to a disturbance with a weapon call shortly before 1:30 a.m. today. When they arrived, they found an adult male who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second homicide was reported at 6:02 a.m. today at the intersection of Liberty Street and Elm Street. Officers were dispatched to a shooting call and found a man lying in the street. The man, who was identified as Reginald Bowling, 48, of Durham, was pronounced dead at the scene.
