Durham police investigators have arrested three brothers and charged them in connection with the fatal shooting of Otha Watson Sunday morning on Hillsborough Road.
The three brothers – 25-year-old Rashawn Harwell, 27-year-old Taylor Jones and 28-year-old Larry Harwell, all of Durham – were arrested today by Durham police officers with assistance from the FBI Raleigh-Durham Safe Streets Task Force and the Wake County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at 2:02 a.m. Sunday in the 3600 block of Hillsborough Road. When they arrived, they found Watson, 26, who had been shot. Watson was taken to the hospital, where he died Sunday afternoon. The victim knew the suspects, according to investigators.
A second shooting victim – an adult female – was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle for treatment of injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
The three men were each charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. They have been placed in Durham County Jail without bond.
