A CrimeStoppers reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case of an 11-year-old girl who suffered a gunshot wound in September. The child was treated at the hospital and is recovering from her injuries
The child was wounded while she was riding in a vehicle on Guess Road near Horton Road around 9:30 p.m. on September 22.
An officer was in a parking lot on Hillandale Road when a vehicle pulled in and the driver told the officer a child in the vehicle had been shot. The child was conscious and alert but bleeding from a wound on the top of her head.
The child’s mother told officers they were driving north on Guess Road near Horton Road when they heard shots from an unknown direction. The mother then realized her child, who was sitting in the back seat, had been injured. Witnesses told officers they saw the occupants of two cars firing shots at each other on Guess Road near Horton Road.
