Online Surveys and Virtual Community Meetings Announced

What does Durham need in its next police chief?

Residents now have the chance to share their thoughts directly with the City of Durham’s hiring consultant, Developmental Associates, through online surveys and virtual community meetings.

The information provided by residents, business owners, and community stakeholders will help Developmental Associates determine recruitment criteria and evaluate candidates.

For more information on the search timeline as well as how to participate in the virtual community sessions, visit the Durham Police Chief Search webpage.

Online Survey

An online survey, available in English and in Spanish, is now open to collect feedback until June 30, 2021. Responses are anonymous.

Community Feedback Sessions

The City’s hiring consultant is also hosting two virtual community feedback sessions to hear from residents directly on the type of public servant they want to see leading the dynamic and diverse, CALEA-accredited Durham Police Department.

The two virtual sessions will be held as follows:

  • Tuesday, May 25 at 6 p.m. – bilingual session in English and Spanish.
  • Wednesday, May 26 at 1 p.m.
