Why would you encourage someone in the community to apply to be on a board, committee, or commission? 

To live in a good community, you should be involved in that community in a constructive way.  You have to do more than sit on the sidelines.  Getting involved and being involved is the best way to make a difference and impact.  Serving on a board, committee or commission is a great first step.

What do you enjoy most about serving on your particular board? 

The makeup of this commission is used to represent the diversity of Durham's community.  As a member we can share our input from different backgrounds to build a better relationship between the people and the City of Durham.

What is your favorite part about living in Durham? 

Living in Durham gives you the big city feel without being swallowed up by the big city.  You also get to meet people from a diverse community.
