REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Affordable Multi-Family Rental Development
Pre-Proposal Workshop: January 5, 2022 at 10:00 A.M.
Proposals Due: February 1, 2022 at 4:00 P.M. 

The City of Durham, Community Development Department is soliciting proposals for projects that produce new multifamily rental housing or preserve existing multifamily rental housing for households with incomes at or below 80% of the Area Median Income.  This Request for Proposals (RFP) is designed to assist in providing gap financing for multifamily rental projects that will seek Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency as part of the January 2022 and/or May-October 2022 application period and/or existing income restricted LIHTC projects that are extending the period of affordability.

On Monday, December 20, 2021, the Community Development Department plans to release the Request for Proposal and solicit applications via ZoomGrants™, the department’s online application management system.  The expected amount of funding to be available is approximately $15,000,000.  Funding sources include the City of Durham’s Dedicated Housing Fund, 2019 Affordable Housing Bond funds, and/or federal Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds.

All applications must be submitted via ZoomGrants™ no later than 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.  Proposals received after the deadline date and time will not be accepted and will be deemed ineligible.
