American Tobacco District Waterline Replacement Project – Gregson Street Closure begins January 10, 2022

Gregson Street between Pettigrew and W Chapel Hill streets will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday, January 10, 2022 for approximately two months. This closure is necessary to accommodate utility work for the American Tobacco District Waterline Replacement Project. Access to local businesses and the West Pettigrew Parking Deck will be maintained throughout the Gregson Street closure.
Signs and markings will be used to detour traffic utilizing Main Street, Buchanan Boulevard, and Chapel Hill Street. See detour route map below.

This closure was noted as a Key Area of Impact at the beginning of construction activities. The City appreciates the patience of all those who travel along the busy corridors associated with this project. Please note that the estimated two-month duration for this closure can be affected by variables, such as weather.
