Renewed Security Brings Peace to Resident

Willard Street Apartments exterior

Andrea Gatewood, a long time Durham resident, started to feel as if people stopped caring about the community where she had spent the past 15 years. Through Forever Home, Durham she was able to regain a sense of neighborhood pride and security when she moved with her dog into the newly built Willard Street Apartments. She loves her new home, which is conveniently located near the bus stop that gets her to work. For Gatewood, this new home has instilled a peace of mind that she didn’t have previously. Optimistic for the future of her community, Gatewood believes the Forever Home, Durham program “is going to do good” and hopes the City can “ build a lot more of these for other people.”
