Are you looking for a fun, safe summer experience that will inspire and entertain your child(ren) for a week during the summer? The Durham Police Department’s free summer camp for youth ages 9 to 13 may be just the program you’re looking for.

The Community Engagement Unit of the department’s Community Services Division is hosting a total of eight week-long sessions during the months of June, July, and August 2022:

  • Camp 1: June 13-17
  • Camp 2: June 20-24
  • Camp 3: July 11-15
  • Camp 4: July 18-22
  • Camp 5: August 8-12
  • Camp 6: August 15-19

The camp aims to add structured youth activities to the summer months and to strengthen law enforcement's relationship with participating youth and their families. Campers will take field trips and engage in recreational, educational, and social activities with police officers and other campers.

The deadline to apply is Sunday, May 8, 2022. Interested families are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as capacity is limited to 14 campers per session.
