News Release For Immediate Release: July 1, 2022 Durham Police Charge Man with Murder in April 2022 Homicide Durham Police have arrested Armani Walker, 25, of Durham, and charged him with murder and seriously injuring two others on Auto Drive in early April. Walker was arrested by the US Marshal Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force and charged with murder, attempted first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Walker was placed in Durham County Jail with no bond. Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the 3000 block of Auto Drive shortly after 1:30 a.m. on April 9. When they arrived, they were notified that three people had been shot. One victim, Daniel Slack, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two victims were transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The shooting did not appear to have been random, according to investigators.
