On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released a supplemental $322 million Notice Of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to address unsheltered and rural homelessness. The Durham Continuum of Care (CoC) is eligible to apply for $2,062,266 in this competition. This NOFO is in addition to the annual CoC Homeless Grants Competition. Please see this link https://www.hud.gov/sites/dfiles/CPD/documents/CoC/Unsheltered-and-Rural-Homelessness-NOFO-FR-6500.pdf to review the full Special NOFO from HUD.
The Special NOFO requires one collaborative application to be submitted on behalf of the Durham CoC. To ensure this requirement is met, there will be a local competition for interested parties. This announcement will be updated with final details and timelines when the local competition process opens. The City of Durham, as the Lead Agency/Collaborative Applicant for the CoC, MUST submit the final Project Applications and a Collaborative Application in response to this supplemental NOFO by 8:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, October 20, 2022. Therefore, the local competition will follow a timeline to ensure there is time for local applications to be submitted, reviewed, scored, and approved for submission by the Homeless Services Advisory Committee. Interested parties eligible to apply for these funds are nonprofit organizations, public housing authorities, and local or state government units.
On Friday, July 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., the City of Durham, Community Development Department, and Durham CoC Lead Agency will host a webinar via Zoom to review HUD's priorities for this competition, Durham's application process, and the submission timeline for the local competition. Interested parties are invited to participate in this Webinar. However, registration is REQUIRED by registering at the following link: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZUqfu6srT8sE9Bmm9QSTrt2JdlVIt_U3oiK.
