Notice of “Needs” Public Hearing
Durham FY 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan (AAP)
May 1, 2023 – 7:00 P.M.

A Public Hearing will be held by the Durham City Council to receive citizen comments on the “Needs” in Durham neighborhoods.   It is envisioned that these “Needs” will be addressed through the use of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) Consortium, Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) funds, as to be contained in the upcoming FY 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan.   

The City expects to receive from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approximately $2,038,871 in CDBG, $1,317,035 in HOME, $182,563 in ESG, and $1,066,328 in HOPWA funds.  

The Public Hearing is scheduled on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 7:00 P.M. during the Durham City Council Meeting.  Durham stakeholders interested in providing public comments on the “Needs” in Durham neighborhoods for the FY 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan should follow the City of Durham’s Public Comment Instructions.  Instructions can be found on the City of Durham website located at the following link: https://durhamnc.gov/3012/Public-Hearings.   

A copy of the Draft FY 2023-2024 AAP will be available for public review from April 5, 2023 – May 5, 2023, on the City of Durham website located at the following links: Draft FY 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan (PDF), Draft FY 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan Funding Chart (PDF), and at the Community Development Department website located at http://durhamnc.gov/445/Community-Development.
