Lakewood Avenue Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project Construction Look Ahead

Planned Road / Lane Closures will occur as follows:

• Week of 6/26: 
  • Lane closures and shifts along University Drive / Lakewood Avenue near the Duke Street intersection. 
• Week of 7/3: 
  • Lane closures and shifts along University Drive / Lakewood Avenue near the Duke Street intersection.
• Future Week(s): 
  • Lane closures and shifts along University Drive / Lakewood Avenue near the Duke Street intersection.

Bicycle Lane and Sidewalk impacts will occur as follows:

• Portions of the sidewalk along University Drive near the Duke Street intersection will have temporary closures.

Saturday – Sunday June 24-25, 2023:

• No work is planned on Saturday or Sunday.

Week of June 26, 2023:

• Lane closures and shifts in University Drive / Lakewood Avenue near the Duke Street intersection will be in place to accommodate sanitary sewer installation.
  • Traffic control signs and markings will be used for the lane closures and shifts.
  • Flaggers will be used in University Drive between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM to maintain traffic in both directions.
  • Temporary pavement markings will be installed to shift traffic lanes along University Drive.
  • Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted in this area.
  • Sanitary sewer installations will and continue north along University Drive.
  • Temporary Forest Hills Shopping Center driveway and parking closures will be required, however access to all businesses will remain accessible. 
  • Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
  • Planned work hours are 7 AM to 7 PM.
  • No water or sewer service disruptions are anticipated.

Saturday – Sunday July 1-2, 2023:

• No work is planned on Saturday or Sunday.

Week of July 3, 2023:

• No work will take place on Tuesday, July 4^th.
• Lane closures and shifts in University Drive / Lakewood Avenue near the Duke Street intersection will be in place to accommodate sanitary sewer installation.
  • Traffic control signs and markings will be used for the lane closures and shifts.
  • Flaggers will be used in University Drive between the hours of 9 AM and 4 PM to maintain traffic in both directions.
