1908 Cedar Street Rezoning - December 16, 2020 Private property owners Erick and Jovonia Lewis are conducting a virtual neighborhood meeting on December 16, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, to discuss a proposed rezoning. The property is currently zoned Residential Suburban-20 (RS-20). The applicant is proposing to rezone the property to Residential Urban - 5 (RU-5). This proposed rezoning would give the applicant the opportunity at a later time, if desired, to subdivide their current .855 acres into two lots. There are no current development plans to subdivide at this time.

Safer-at-Home Order in Effect - Planning and Development Services (DSC) Continue Most Operations OnlineThe Development Services Center (DSC) lobby has been closed to walk-in customers due to COVID-19, and customer service, development review, and inspections services have continued remotely. After further assessing the safety and demand for in-person services in light of alternative telephone, email, and web-based services available, the DSC lobby will remain closed until further notice.
If a service cannot be provided remotely, an in-person option may be arranged in advance with strict adherence to social distancing standards and use of a face covering. Update on Engagement for the Comprehensive Plan and Transit PlanThe Planning and Transit teams are working together to begin engaging the Durham Community around draft goals and objectives for 2 important plans – the Transit Plan and the Comprehensive Plan.

Durham County Board of County Commissioners The Board of County Commissioners will hold a virtual meeting on December 14, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. - No items will be presented by City-County Planning.
Durham Board of Adjustment The Durham City-County Board of Adjustment will hold a virtual public hearing on December 15, 2020, at 8:30 a.m. to hear the following requests in quasi-judicial hearing:- B2000036 – City: A request for a minor special use permit to allow a parking reduction greater than 20%.
