Durham’s New Comprehensive Plan UpdateDurham is working on a new Comprehensive Plan, a long-range vision for our community! The Comprehensive Plan decides what can be built where in Durham. Engagement has started! We want to hear from you! Engagement on the policy recommendations that will be part of the new Comprehensive Plan has begun. To make the Community Goals and Objectives of the Comprehensive Plan a reality in Durham, we have drafted policy recommendations on how to achieve them. These policies have been drafted by teams of staff and community members, including youth, over the last several months. The Durham City Council will hold in-person and virtual public hearings on May 16, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 1st Floor, 101 City Hall Plaza, to hear the following requests:
Annexation Petition - Angier Avenue Apartments (BDG2100004) is a request for voluntary noncontiguous annexation of four parcels of land totaling 36.67 acres located at 3723, 3729, 3685 & 3801 Angier Avenue (portion).
Zoning Map Change - Angier Avenue Apartments (Z2100005) is a request to change the zoning from Residential Suburban – Multifamily with a Development Plan (RS-M(D)) and Residential Suburban – 20 (RS-20), with a Falls/Jordan Lake Watershed Protection District-B (F/J-B) to Residential Suburban – Multifamily with a Development Plan (RS-M(D)) with a Falls/Jordan Lake Watershed Protection District-B (F/J-B). A future land use map amendment from Low Density Residential to Medium-High Density Residential is also associated with this request located at 3723, 3729, 3685 & 3801 Angier Avenue (portion).

There is no sign-up sheet or request form to attend meetings, however, it is important to note that there are very limited seating options.
