The Board of County Commissioners will hold public hearings on March 27, 2023, at the meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Chambers, 2nd Floor, Durham County Administration I, 200 E. Main Street to hear the following requests:
No cases will be presented by the Planning Department.
Public Participation: Residents may attend in person, via Zoom, or watch live on the County’s website and on DTN. Seating is limited inside the Chambers due to social distancing guidelines, and is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with priority given to County staff. A low-capacity overflow seating area is provided in the lobby on the second floor of the Administration Building. Individuals seated in the lobby can view the meeting on screens. Residents who wish to observe meetings are encouraged to continue using the virtual option.
Residents may deliver comments on agenda items for the meeting in person or virtually. Please refer to the following web page for ways to participate: Commissioner Meetings. The Zoom meeting link will be posted during the week before the scheduled meeting.

The Durham City-County Board of Adjustment will hold public hearings on March 28, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. in the Committee Room, Second Floor, 101 City Hall Plaza, to hear the following requests in quasi-judicial hearings:
B2200054 – City: A request for a Minor Special Use Permit to allow for the development of a government facility in a residential zone. The property is located at 3301 Glenn Road, zoned Residential Rural (RR), in the Falls/Jordan District B (F/J-B) Watershed Overlay District, and within the Suburban Development Tier.
B2300008 – City: A request for a Variance from the tree preservation standards. The property is located at 2705, 2725 E US 70 Hwy and 4793, 4709 Leesville Road, zoned Planned Development Residential 5.949 (PDR 5.949), in the Falls/Jordan District B (F/J-B) Watershed Overlay District, and within the Suburban Development Tier.

The Durham Planning Commission will hold in-person and virtual public hearings on March 28, 2023, at the meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 1st Floor, 101 City Hall Plaza, to hear the following:
- Comprehensive Plan (Continued from February 28, 2023) The Planning Commission will consider making a recommendation on the adoption of the new Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan guides what should be built where in Durham. It guides what size and kind of homes should be built in what part of the City and County, where schools and businesses should be built, and where streets should run through. The new Comprehensive Plan includes Community Goals and Objectives, Policies, and a Place Type Map.
