Join us at the Listening and Learning Workshops, ENGAGEDurham’s first community engagement event. As someone who lives, works, owns a business, goes to school or simply cares about the future of Durham, your opinions and ideas are valued.
All five Listening and Learning Workshops (identical in format and content) are scheduled between November 14-19 in locations throughout the community. Doors open 30 minutes early. Each workshop will be about two hours long. Spanish interpretation, free child care and light refreshments will be provided.

Applicant-Sponsored Neighborhood MeetingsHorvath and Associates is hosting a neighborhood meeting to discuss a potential change to the Future Land Use Map for the property located at 995 Old Oxford Road (intersection of Carver Street and Old Oxford Road). The proposal includes changing the land use designation from Industrial and Commercial to all Commercial. Coulter Jewell Thames, PA., is hosting a neighborhood meeting on behalf of Durhill II LLC to discuss a proposed Minor Special Use Permit request for properties addressed 4818, 4852, 4904, 4916, and 4950 Durham Chapel Hill Boulevard. The proposal includes a new development on the 5 parcels zoned Commercial Neighborhood (CN) (zoning designation before the Patterson Place Compact Suburban Design District zoning was approved). The Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) requires a Minor Special Use Permit for any new development within the CN zoning district that has over 5,000 square feet of new project floor area, does not have a development plan, and is adjacent to residential zoning districts on two or more property lines.
