Most City of Durham Offices Closed for Veterans Day

The City of Durham will observe the upcoming Veterans Day holiday on Friday, November 11. Most City offices, including City Hall and all non-emergency City facilities and operations, will be closed to the public. Emergency services may be reached by calling 911. Non-emergency concerns may be directed to (919) 560-4600.

Curbside Yard Waste Collections

The Solid Waste Management Department will be closed on Friday, November 11.

Curbside collections for yard waste will be delayed by one business day to Monday, November 14.
The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility, and the Household Hazardous Waste Center will be closed on Friday, November 11.

Parks and Recreation

Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) will close its administrative office and all facilities on Friday, November 11.

Downtown Parking

The Park Durham Customer Service Center will be closed on Friday, November 11.
On City-designated holidays, downtown parking is free in on-street parking spaces, City-owned parking garages, and City-owned surface parking lots.

GoDurham

GoDurham will operate under its normal schedule on Friday, November 11.

Water and Sewer Emergencies

Water main break and sewer overflow calls for service placed after-hours, on weekends or on City-recognized holidays should be directed to the Water Management Department’s after-hours emergency number at (919) 560-4344, which will dispatch on-call crews.
